Crispy Chilli Potatoes (Easy , 35 Mins Recipe)

Crispy Chilli Potatoes are very crispy as mentioned , delicious recipe. Which can be made any time by anyone. This can be made for any special occasion as a starters. Check out the below instructions for making yourself one.






Ingredients which were used :-

1)      Potatoes
2)      Oil
3)      Salt
4)      Pepper
5)      Garlic
6)      Ginger
7)      Green Chilli
8)      Capsicum or Bell Pepper
9)      Soy Sauce
10)   Chilli Sauce
11)   Vinegar or Lemon Juice
12)   Corn Flour

Ingredients which you can also use :-

1)      Onion
2)      Spring Onion
3)      Tomato Ketchup
4)      Capsicum or Bell Pepper (Yellow, Red, Green)

The recipe is divided in 2 parts :-

1)      Frying the potatoes

Take 2 or 3 big size potatoes , peel them and cut it thin slices.


Wash it thorough after than take a saucepan add water , salt and little oil.




Cook the potatoes till they are parboiled or semi boiled. Take it off the burner and refrigerate it for 20 to 30 mins.






After 30 mins take the potatoes out of the fridge and coat it with corn flour.




Take a deep cooking pot or kadai with oil for frying. Put the corn flour coated potatoes in the pot or kadai and fry the potatoes till they are cooked and you get a light golden color.


After all the potatoes are fried keep it aside and get all your things ready for making the sauce.

2)      Making the sauce

For making your sauce take a deep cooking pot or kadai and add little oil and then add finely chopped chilli garlic and ginger.
After few mins add capsicum or the optional things which is mentioned above.





Saute it and add soy sauce, chilli sauce, vinegar or lemon juice.
Add salt and pepper. (Remember to put very little salt as we have added salt while boiling the potatoes and soy sauce also have salt in it).
Make this happen really quick.
After that take 4 to 5 spoons of water and add ¼ spoon of corn flour in a bowl and mix it.
Add the mixture in the pan and quickly stir it DO NOT allow it sit in the pan.

Mix it and add potatoes and then again mix it.

And your Crispy Chilli Potatoes is ready.

Make sure you serve it hot.

I agree that it has many steps but it is Worth the Wait.





Questions that can hit your mind :-

Why to boil the potatoes when we are going to fry them ?

We boil the parboil or semi cook the potatoes so that while going in the oil it doesn’t get dark golden we want the light golden color for that.

Why to refrigerate the potatoes ?

We do it because we want the crispy layer on the top of the potatoes if we directly fry them it will become soggy which we don’t want.

Can we boil the potatoes and use it later ?

Ofcouse you can boil the potatoes and use it another day as well . The more they are refrigerated the more they would be crispy.

Can we cook it in advance ?

You can make boil the potatoes but we you want that flavour to get intact in the dish then you need to cook it at the time it needs to be served
